Women's football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK and the recent success of the English Lionesses at the 2020 EURO's the sport has continued to grow in popularity.
Viewing figures for the game have been steadily increasing, and they have doubled since 2017. Female Football freestyle has caught up with the men’s game and rightly so.
Our female Freestyle Football influencer’s social media presence has brought freestyle football to the attention of fans across the globe and making them aware of the potential of this sport globally. Using social-first thinking to reinvigorate Boost Drinks brand collaboration and sponsorship with Leeds United FC a clever creative strategy using tricks & skills along with brand activations to reach a wider audience to celebrate, engage and connect with fans, enthusiasts and consumers with a unique opportunity to showcase and give away an exclusive prize via TikTok, Instagram & Facebook competition.
As we want to showcase and celebrate the partnership between Boost Drinks and Leeds United FC it made sense to shoot all our content on the hallowed turf at Elland Road. To give fans and hopefuls an insight into areas of the ground which usually would be reserved for players and officials we designed and created unique football freestyle skills to match. Voice overs and delivery to camera soon followed to inform followers how they too can follow in these footsteps with a chance to win merch and experience including exclusive access all areas day in the life of a professional football player. Following on we delivered a special brand activation at the Leeds United v Liverpool FC premiership match with a club legend delivering a skills masterclass and workshop session giving away free drink and prizes to participants all covered on social media via TikTok, Instagram & Facebook.
We activated two phases, each focusing on bridging the gap between followers and fans whilst also celebrating the rise of women’s football in 2023. By leveraging captive audiences via Boost Drinks, Leeds United FC and our influencers followers the campaign not only gave away a unique experience but also successfully reinforced the brand’s ethos and values all round. Our campaign combined three main areas with successful impressions, reach and engagement across multi platforms and showed that sports influencer marketing can be used to get a clear message across whilst also inspiring the new generation of fans and followers with meaningful content!
